Dale Vince Vegan Football Hero

Beef Burgers, Sausages and Pies banned from Football Stadium: Big shout to Dale Vince, the guy behind Ecotricity - the sustainable energy innovators. Dale has taken Beef off the menu at Forest Green Rovers Football club where he is Chairman.

Dale said on the club's website
"The decision was taken on performance and health grounds.
Following that it seemed quite right that if red meat was not good enough to feed our players, then it wasn't good enough for our staff, fans and visitors too.

Consequently red meat is now off the menu at Forest Green Rovers. We're simply saying we won't any longer provide Red Meat at the club. We've taken it off the menu.  This is a part of a bigger picture move - it's about improving the quality of food at FGR, about providing better quality, healthy food all round."

Another step closer to the 2011 Plantarian goal of a One World Day Record for meat free healthy and sustainable living

James Southwood - Shelter

James Southwood is fundraising for Shelter:

Super Vegan and The President of the Great Britain Savate Federation is in for a Vertical Rush to raise money for Charity.

He says "On 3rd March 2011, I am participating in Vertical Rush - it's a race to the top of Tower 42 in the City of London - up the stairs - all 183 metres of them! I'm doing it in order to do something difficult and to raise funds for Shelter."

920 steps give the guy a quid or two for his efforts.

That should help inspire more people to think about a plant based diet and help us towards our goal for the One World Day New World Record
